annoying teenage girl no.1:I just don't understand why anyone would bother reading the Twilight books. Books are so boring.
annoying teenage girl no.2:Yeah, exactly! Why read a book when you can watch the films instead?
incredible sassy Waterstone's employee under her breath:Because if no one read books the rest of the population would have about as many brain cells as the three of you and I would be forced to kill myself.
I haven’t written you exactly how you would react or talk, so forgive me for that, but everything in thid fic is the absolute truth.
When the blue box materialised in front of Rin, it was all she could do not to scream.
And when the man in the bow tie poked his head around the door, there wasn’t anything she COULD do but to stare.
"Rin! Hello! You haven’t seen a friend of mine anywhere, have you?" He gestured around the height of his chest, "About so high… Red hair, green eyes. Alien. No?"
"How do you know me? How are you even real?" Rin blurted, still staring amazedly at the man.
"…I’ve landed in the wrong universe again, haven’t I?" he sighed, "What is it with all the wibbly wobbly around here lately?"
"I’m sorry, what?"
"I’m guessing we haven’t met yet? I’m The Doctor-"
"I know," Rin interrupted, growing impatient with the man. She thought for a second, "So you’re from… Another universe? A universe where The Doctor is real? And we’ve met?"
"Yes, yes, and sort of. See, a few weeks ago I landed here, completely by accident, and… What day is it?"
"Tuesday. Tuesday the twenty eighth of November, two thousand and eleven."
A warm smile grew on The Doctor’s face, “You’ll find out tomorrow.”
At that moment, a claxon sounded in the box Rin knew was The TARDIS. The Doctor span around, sliding into the ship before returning to Rin, adventure and childlike excitement in his eyes.
"Gotta go, sorry. The TARDIS has picked up where she is. The friend I was talking about. Well, I say friend…" He tilted his head, smiling, "Daughter. Anyway. Goodbye for now, Rin."
Rin’s face fell, disappointment setting in.
"Fine. Just leave me," she turned away, sighing. "I’m not important."
The Doctor’s head returned around the door, frowning. He looked between Rin and the TARDIS for a moment, before sighing and stepping out completely, shutting the door. “She can wait.”
Rin turned back, confusion in her eyes.
"Right now, you’re more important," The Doctor admitted, "And you always will be."
Rin gave a dry laugh, “Don’t be ridiculous. I’m not important to anyone.”
"Oh, Rin. You’re so much more than you believe," he moved beside her, beckoning for her to sit on the grass with him. "Now you listen to me. You’re not the first person I’ve met who thinks that way. Far from it. And I’ve watched every single one of them blossom into something so much more than they thought they were.
“When I met you tomorrow, I knew you were something special. Only a fool would look at someone with the looks and charms of Charles Xavier and think they weren’t. But then I started to know the real Rin. The real Annie. And she was far more spectacular.”
"I’m really not," Rin insisted, "I always have to be perfect, I always have to be the best at everything, even though I know I can’t, and everyone just thinks I’m being selfish and ridiculous."
"They really don’t. There are people out there who love you for who you are, Rin. That perfectionism, that constant drive to be the best anyone has seen, that is what makes you you! You’re not at all selfish, and the people who know you, the people who care, those people who really matter will see that. You’re already perfect, everyone is, but to try so hard to be better than perfect is what gets so many amazing people where they are to day. So many people would just give up, start neglecting their own wellbeing just because they can’t get past that mark, but you keep going, you keep pushing that barrier until it breaks. I know I do." The Doctor placed a hand on the side of Rin’s face, turning her lowered head to face him, "In a few years you’ll leave home. You’ll move away from all this, you’ll become your own person. And somewhere out there is someone waiting for you. Someone just like you, but different enough not to clash. Somewhere out there is a place where you can fit in, where you’ll finally be accepted for the wonderful person you are. I know, Rin, because I’ve seen it. I’ve seen the future Rin Xavier, and I’ve watched her grow into something so much bigger, someone ten times as brilliant as she already is. There is somewhere in this big, complicated world for you. I know there is, but you have to believe it."
Rin remained silent, taking in all he’d said. A tear fell down her cheek as she turned her head away.
The Doctor sighed, planting a small kiss against her head before getting to his feet, slowly walking towards the TARDIS.
"If I’m so important, why won’t you take me with you?" Rin spoke just before he entered the box.
The Doctor paused, not looking back, “I’m sorry. I know what happens to you. I know what he does. But you have to believe that it will get better. He won’t be there forever. You might never be free from the memory, but that memory is what keeps so many people going. Whatever happens to you from now until you leave home is what makes you the woman I visited in ten years’ time. And as much as I’d like to take you away from this myself, you know I can’t. But please, for me, and for everyone out there who loves you,” He walked back to her, undoing his bowtie and resting it gently in her palm, “Believe.”
I have had to teach it the words shit, fuck, cocksucker, and, amusingly, autocorrect.
However, it already knew iPhone and Batman.
What even, HTC. What even, Android.
I’ve taught mine fuck, fucker, fucking, shit, shite, shitty, bugger, bastard, reblog, reblogging, Tumblr, teh, ASDFGHJKL, OHMYFUCK, YAYYYYYYYYY, YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY, AAAGGGH, and hundreds more.
It already knew… Some words that I can’t remember because I’ve added so many words to it
Once upon a time, the Controller of the BBC commissioned 3 1 and a half hour TV Shows which were some of the best things ever produced on TV. Then, someone seemed to forget they had an award winning TV Show on their hands, and didn't think to make anymore immediately. Instead, they waited a year and a half to even begin thinking of showing more episodes. Driven mad by lack of this show and with only 3 episodes to watch on repeat over and over, the fans took it upon themselves to create plots, relationships and entirely new characters which weren't in the original show, each of these new ideas more insane than the last.
I think we’re all going to be confused by the new episodes. I mean jesus, we’ve written this all for ourselves!
“Ehh…why aren’t they having sex right now?” “THERE ARE MUGS! THERE ARE MUGS! …why aren’t you doing anything about it?” “ANDERSON WHERE ARE YOUR DINOSAURS!?!? WHY ARE THERE NO DINOSAURS!?” “WHY ARE YOU HAVING BUTTER ON YOUR TOAST, JOHN!? YOU LIKE JAM! YOU LIKE JAAAAAAAAAM!”
“WHY DID *insert various OCs here* NOT SAVE YOU?”
“SHERLOCK WHY ARE YOU NOT A VAMPIRE YET?”
“JOHN JOHN LOOK! A JAR OF JAM! WHY ARE YOU NOT REACTING?”
